Electrostatics : Two adjacent parallel straight conductors

Problem statement

Consider two parallel wires whose separation 2d between the centres of the wires is large compared with their diameters 2a. Also note that the electric field in the plane of the wires is a straight line.

Objective : to find the capacitance C between the wires.
Principles : Gauss' law.

Method of analysis :	1) define the potential difference V between the wires,
			2) define the magnitude of the charge per unit length [rho] on the wires.
