Parallel conducting loops


Problem statement


Consider two parallel conducting loops with centres on the same axis, some distance z apart. The radii of the loops are a and b where a>>b. Let a current pass around the larger loop, and calculate the flux linking the smaller one.

Objective : to find the mutual inductance M of a coaxial cable .
Principles : Biot-Savart law.

Method of analysis : Application of Biot-Savart law and flux linkage.
