[Univ of Cambridge] [Dept of Engineering]

This is a program designed for first year engineering students which takes either:
  1. a set of points, or
  2. a character string representing a function from which a set of points can be generated
and fits a Fourier Series (with the number of cosine and sine terms specified by the user) to the function or set of points entered. The function (or set of points) is typed in at a terminal and a graphical display is produced showing plots for the function and the Fourier Series.

Also available are:

This program can be used to fit approximations to repeating functions such as square waves or saw-tooth waveforms.
