License Details

The University now has a license that is available to Undergraduate Students.

During the installation, you will be asked to set up an account with Mathworks in order to gain access to the software.
The Activation key you will need is: 10884-75670-89882-74755-93206

The student license includes the following toolkits:

Operating system support

The licenses allow us to install both 32 and 64bit versions on Windows, MacOS, Linux and Solaris.

Installation Media

To borrow the install media for the latest versions of MATLAB please contact the Computer Operators (operators@eng).

Installation Instructions

Installing the Undergraduate Student version of Matlab

Run the file "Setup.exe".

This will install either the 32 bit or the 64 bit version according to which Operating System you are using.

When prompted, select Install using the internet.

Please take a moment to read the license agreement before clicking Yes then Next.

You will now need to create your account with Mathworks. Do this by clicking I need to create an Account (Requires an Activation Key).

Ensure you fill in all the fields accurately before clicking Next.

At this point you will need to check your e-mail for a confirmation request from Mathworks.
The confirmation e-mail will resemble the following:

Clicking the link should open a web browser to confirm you have been successful.

Once you have confirmed your account, you will now be able to click on Next.

You will probably find that a Typical install will be suitable for all your needs. Select that and then click Next.

Select the Path you wish to have Matlab installed to (most people will probably fine with the default). Once you are ready, click Next.

If this is the first time you have installed Matlab, then you will probably be asked if you would like the folder to be created. Obviously, click Yes.

You will now have a confirmation page for all the settings. It is worth having a quick look at this to ensure everything is as you expect. When you are ready, click Install.

You will now have a bit of a wait on your hands. Now may be a good time to have a Tea.

You may be prompted by the following message, but it is unlikely. If you do see this message click on the links provided for further information before clicking Next.

You will now be required to Activate Matlab. Ensure the tickbox is ticked then click Next.

You should see the following message. Click Next.

(Windows Only) You will now need to provide the Windows Username. This will be pre-filled with your current username. Change it if you need to, then click Next.

You will now be presented with a confirmation page. When you are ready, click Activate.

After a moment you should see the Activation Complete window. Click Finish.

Matlab is now installed.
