Requirements Input

This stage allows you to specify requirements for your design, grouped together under headings.  To get started just click the Add Heading button (the top one on the left-hand toolbar).  You can then select the type of the heading by clicking on the button which appears (if you want your own text just select User and type in the box which appears).

You can add requirements under the currently-selected heading by clicking the Add Requirement button on the left toolbar (third from the top).  Each requirement may be edited by clicking in the fields. To change the heading under which to add requirements just click the box to the left of the heading under which you wish to add requirements.

You can select headings and requirements using the button at the left-hand end of each row.  Only one heading may be selected at once (this appears highlighted in purple), but multiple requirements may be selected together (these appear highlighted in red).

You can use the small box initially labelled "D" in each requirement row to change the requirement between a demand and a wish. Only wishes appear on the evaluation chart. Wishes must be given an integer weighting (greater than zero) in the small box which appears to the right of the demand/wish selection box.

Toolbar

The toolbar on the left of the window provides the following functionality:

Add Heading Adds a new heading to the table.
Delete Heading Deletes the selected heading from the table, and any requirements under it.
Add Requirement Adds a new requirement to the table under the selected heading.
Delete Requirements Deletes the selected requirements from the table.
Cut Requirements Cuts the selected requirements to the clipboard.  (Cutting is the action of copying the selected requirements to the clipboard and then removing the requirements from the table).
Copy Requirements Copies the selected requirements to the clipboard.
Paste Requirements Pastes requirements from the clipboard into the current project.  When you click Paste a dotted line appears, which you can move up and down to select where you want to paste the requirements.

The Cut, Copy and Paste buttons enable the transfer of requirements between projects in different windows.
