Watch our short film about Engineering at Cambridge

This site will be migrating to a new format over the next few weeks. However, the content will to all intents and purposes not change.

Engineering is about solving problems: about designing processes and making products to improve the quality of human life. From reservoirs to robots, aircraft to artificial hips, microchips to mobile phones - engineers design and manufacture a huge variety of objects that can make a real difference to both individuals and to societies.

The aim of our course is to provide you with all the analytical, design and computing skills that underpin modern engineering practice, while encouraging the creativity and problem-solving skills that are so important to a good engineer. Use the links above to find out more.

Comments from Cambridge Engineering students:

I applied to Cambridge following a talk given at our school by a former pupil who had come here. She talked about what an attractive city it is, and how the stereotypical images we all believe of Cambridge are untrue. She was quite right in both of those things.
Sheenaanne Law

I chose to come to Cambridge mainly because the course was general for the first two years, allowing me to find my feet and decide what I really wanted to do. After all, how many people really know what they want to do so early on?
Elliott Furminger

I have found the course demanding, but the experience of being at Cambridge has been terrific. Whatever the future brings, I know that my engineering skills, learned at Cambridge, will be very useful.
Nick Gowers

The Department of Engineering Open Days will be held on 2nd/3rd July, 2015. Those wishing to attend need to book to attend the Cambridge Open Days.
