Windows
Emacs can split the screen into two or many windows, which can display
parts of different buffers, or different parts of one buffer. You can
use the mouse to move the text cursor into a window, or use C-x o
C-x 2 | Split the window into 2 windows, one above the other |
C-x 5 | Split the window into 2 windows, side by side |
C-x 0 | Remove selected window |
C-x 1 | Remove all windows except the selected one |
C-x ^ | Make the selected window taller, at the expense of the other(s) |
C-x } | Make the selected window wider |
